About exPhone

This project was conceived and designed by Chris Messina (Citizen Agency) with copious support, ideas and coding help from Alex Hillman (We Know HTML).

The aim is to inform and to educate and to provide a simple series of answers to the question: "What should I do with my exPhone?"

As a lead up to iPhoneDevCamp, the hope is that this site can get a boost of interest now that the iPhone is out and hasn't flopped... or else we would have had to call the site ex-iPhone!

Heart Dedications

Exploding Love
i have love for you by Sam Brown

This site is dedicated to Tara Hunt as an early birthday present. It seemed that if I was going to be futzing, I might as well apply it to something socially constructive that we both care about.

This project is also dedicated to Ryan McLaughlin, who puts up with Alex's endless hours of staring at the computer screen to build projects like this one. "See hunny, I AM saving the world...one exPhone at a time."

exPhone is not only an example of personal collaboration, but also of leveraging web services and free and open source tools and code. In particular, we make extensive use of web services from Ma.gnolia, Flickr, and Delicious, intermediated by FeedBurner and Yahoo! Pipes.

We've also made use of moo.tools, Slimbox, Dan Benjamin's email Enkoder, SimplePie and yes, some of Apple's CSS (we hope they don't mind, since they did a really good job on it!).
