Drop it off locally
- GreenCitizen is located in downtown San Francisco and recycles alls kinds of computer junk! Find them at 591 Howard Street in San Francisco.
- FreeCycle™ is host to over 4,000 communities made up of over 3.5 million members around the world exchanging stuff for free. Sign up with a local group and kiss your exPhone good bye.
- Best Buy makes it really easy for you to drop off you exPhone the next time you're shopping. Just find an in-store kiosk and deposit your exPhone, rechargeable batteries, or ink-jet cartridges — free!
- Goodwill accepts electronics and mobile phones as part of its E-Waste recycling program. You can find a nearby Goodwill using their convenient location tool.
- Oxfam UK, an international organization fighting poverty, has partnered with Corporate Mobile Recycling Ltd. in the UK on the GiveBack Campaign. If you've got less than 10 phones, drop them off at an Oxfam location.
- If you happen to be a Torontonian, you can drop off your phone at the Toronto Zoo as they've partnered with ECO CELL in a fundraiser to help support the gorillas in their habitat.
Send it away
- Apple, Inc once again provide a super simple way for you to simply send in your cell phone for free. Just fill out this handy form to get a prepaid label or mailer.
- Motorola will pay for your shipping as well. Head over to their Race to Recycle site and download the prepaid postage label. No different than Apple, but at least you have a choice.
- As part of Oxfam UK's GiveBack Campaign, you can mail in cell phones in a jiffy bag to Freepost LON16281, London, WC1N 3BR. If you've picked up more than 10 phones, call main 0870 752 0999 and they'll arrange a free courier collection for you.
